Bible verses about sin |
What does the Bible say about Sin?
The simplest answer is that sin is disobedience to God. Sin can be thought of as committing spiritual wickedness or we can say it's like committing a spiritual crime. Most of us do not think of ourselves as criminals. We tend to think of crime in terms of murder, theft, arson, drunk driving, and so on.
However, even those of us who have not committed any of these crimes are still spiritual criminals even if our worst offense is telling a lie! The Bible says that all people sin (Romans 3:23).

Prayer to Ask God to Forgive Me of Your Sins
Lord, I thank you for the message I heard that Jesus came 2000 years ago to die for my sins so that I can right exalt you and call you Father.
I thank you when Jesus came to this earth, He lived a perfect life and died on the cross (although He was innocent) and buried. On the third day, He rose from the dead and ascended to Heaven to be at your right hand.
I want to thank you for this exhilarating message and I pray that you forgive my sins. I have done so many wrong things in my life that I deserve separation from you but I thank you that you are compassionate, faithful, and loving God and you want to forgive me so I can have a stronger relationship with you.
I thank you that I am able to hear this message and make up my mind to take this decision to turn my mind from all the ungodly and wicked things so I'd ask Jesus to come and forgive all my sins.
I pray today Jesus you become the Lord of my life and from this day forward I will live a life that would be worthy. And I will be able to hear your voice and follow your every single word and do what is pleasing to you.
I also thank you for the words of promises and for the plans and purposes you have already for me. I commit to being your servant for the rest of my life.
So I thank you for Jesus and my new found relationship with you and the Holy Spirit that will live and guide me through life.
In Jesus' name, I pray.
Amen!
